Lucky Sevens by Mom
Henry turns seven weeks old today. WOW!
The past week has been full of smiles and plenty of “out” time. Henry is responding more and more to mom and pop with smiles, coos and near giggles. He’s so freakin’ cute we can hardly stand it at times!
And to makes matters even sweeter we have been treated to four, five and even six hour stretches of sleep at night. In fact, last night we had a record six-and-a-half hours before I made John wake the little sucker up in order to prevent a river of milk flowing onto our clean flannel sheets.
In other, not-so-great news, I just wrapped up an intensive week of therapy at the chiropractor’s office. I’ve been suffering from back and neck pain since I got home from the hospital and it’s only gotten worse as Henry gets bigger and heavier. The doctor (who also happens to be my nextdoor neighbor) took x-rays on Monday and I found out that where my back was supposed to be straight, it forms an s-curve…and where it should be curved, it’s straight. Gee, no wonder I’m in pain!
So, Henry and I have been visiting the doctor’s office three times a week for the next two weeks. And, in order to keep Henry happy while momma’s getting adjusted, I’ve had to resort to the dreaded pacifier fix. Truthfully, I don’t see that much harm in using a “binky.” But, in deference to Dad’s concerns (thumb-sucking and future braces being but two), I’ve promised to only use the pacifier when Henry’s being fussy in a public setting. At home he’ll just have to cry it out.
That’s the news for now. Hope everyone enjoys the new pictures we’ve posted on teh website. See how gosh-darn CUTE he is?
Hi John and Laura,
Thanks for the Lucky Seven by mom update. I love your site because it keeps me posted and mostly I get to see that handsome Henry - he does steal your heart away. What a cutie. He certainly is growing by leaps and bounds. I love reading your postings they are very heartwarming and informative. Keep up the good work. Sorry to hear about your back Laura, hopefully the adjustments will work. Take good care of each other as I certainly can see and read the love in your beautiful family.
God bless you all
Love,
Aunt Lynn
Thanks Auntie Lynn!
We look forward to introducing him to you. It is high time we had another Lapierre gathering!
With love,
Laura
Hi Laura and John,
Don’t be concerned with the “binky”. My three grandkids used them for only a few months until they started throwing them out of their cribs. Henry is beautiful and I enjoy getting these updates. Laura, hope your back pain subsides quickly.
My best to all three of you.
Sheila
