O.D.-ing on tryptophan by Mom
Had a lovely and quiet Thanksgiving with the family this year (my mom, John’s mom, John’s brother and his girlfriend). Only had six at the dinner table (which was great) and everyone brought a dish to make things even easier. But the best part was afterwards. I went to lay down on the sofa because my back was bothering me and everyone else cleaned up and put away all the leftovers.
See? There are some advantages to pregnancy. :^)
The day after T-day was a bit disconcerting though. I went in for my (now-weekly) doctor’s visit and they said they found protein in my urine. The doctor was concerned I might be developing toxemia (pregnancy hypertension) and had me go to the lab to draw blood (where I had to wait an hour for the lab technician to return from her lunch break).
It turned out to be nothing, a false positive…but it was a bit scary just the same. The good news is, the doctor also checked the baby’s position and found that it is “locked and loaded” in the head-down, “I’m ready to be delivered” position. Yay!
