Catching Up by Dad
Wow, has it really been since the beginning of February since this page has been updated? Time really flies…
Henry is 17.5 months old now, and is getting his canine teeth in as I write this. He’s been sleeping well, ~2.5 hour naps both days this weekend (Hooray!) and doing well in the night too. I fear all of this might change soon however, as Laura has decreed that starting tonight, I will be the one to put him to bed from now on. Sorry, buddy. No more mama’s milk before sleep.
Wish me luck.
Back in May, the three of us went to visit Pepe in Arizona. Henry really liked Pepe’s quiet neighborhood, where he could walk around the block without fear of getting hit by a car.

He also really got a kick out of the park that was nearby. A lake full of black ducks plus a fountain!

Of course, the stroller came along so he could get his exercise in.

We were worried about how the flights there and back were going to go, seeing that Henry was flying as a “lap child” and didn’t have his own seat. We booked flights Wednesday to Wednesday, hoping that we’d get less full flights, and could take over a row. Didn’t work out that way, but it still went much better than we had feared it might.
Since getting home, Henry and Mom have been going to their music class on Fridays, and to the park down the road as well as the one near Nana’s house. We would have gone this past Saturday too, but we got rained out.
Henry is picking up more words, although his signs still rule his conversational skills. He’s got “mama” and “dada” down, of course. As well as his first real words (I don’t think “doot” actually counts), “hat” and “up”. For some other things, such as looking at a picture of Pepe, he’ll just repeat the first consonant, “Puh puh puh” or for his toy tractor “Teh teh teh”.
I’m sure there are months worth of things that I’m forgetting, but we’re going to try (again) to be more regular with these posts. The boy sure takes up a lot of time though!
Until later,
Dad
Yay! Soon Henry can post his OWN updates
Love that Henry! And mom & dad, too. Hope to catch you all soon. (Do you think he could say Auntie?)
